The New Romantic

Spring continues to sprout new and exciting trends, but this year one of my favourites (and perhaps most refreshing) has to be The New Romantic.

Ruffles, appliqué, lace, and sheer accents are just a few of the delicate details that make up this sexy yet refined trend. Taking inspiration from 2016’s Pantone colours of the year: Serenity and Rose Quartz, along with subtleties of Spanish influence and vintage flare, The New Romantic is the perfect mix of feminine and modern.

My take on the trend? Mix elements of masculinity to give it balance.

I paired my silk ruffled tunic from Zimmermann (who totally NAILED the new romantic trend this season) with a pair of wide-leg linen pants and a bomber to ground and compliment the delicate details.

I finished the look by accessorizing with a gold chevron necklace and summer’s must-have suede lace-up peep toes by Aquazzura, all from eBay Canada.
