The Stylish Layer You’re Seeing All Over

Layering is essential in the fall. But there is one layering piece this season that is the MVP and that’s the shacket (or shirt jacket). The shacket is absolutely fashion meets function and a fabulous and versatile piece for transitional dressing.

We’re all familiar with the plaid print, but what I love about this particular pattern is the colour palette. Traditionally you’d see these colours in the spring, but the fabric (a wool blend) makes it perfect for the season. Feminine details (like embellished buttons) add a delicate touch to an overall masculine silhouette.

This cropped shaket has a definite 70’s vibe. It’s almost like a bomber jacket, so a really great (and familiar) silhouette for anyone whose just being introduced to the style. And of course, in a neutral colour so you’ll be able to easily integrate it into your current wardrobe.

A long shacket is a chic (and warm) option for the season, especially in a winter white faux shearling. The quickest way to elevate the shacket is by keeping the look monochromatic.
