Steep or Cheap? Where To Spend and Where To Save This Season

There is something for everyone the season! Not only are there so many great trends to try this Fall, they come in a range of price points.   You don’t have to spend a lot to look amazing, especially when you know where to invest and where to save.

Look 1:  Splurge on a beautiful Tweed suit.  Not only will you be able to wear the pieces as separates, it can mix effortlessly with every other colour including something as bold as highlighter pink. Save on über-trendy, 80’s throwback pieces like patent leather accessories and Madonna worthy white ankle booties.  If you already have pieces from the 80’s hiding in the back of your closet find a good tailor to update their silhouette. (Translation: retire the shoulder pads).

Look 2: Splurge of Fall florals.  Realistically the floral trend is year round! You can transition this look with accessories, trading out buttery leather boots for strappy sandals.  Save on equestrian accessories like turquoise statement earrings.  Look for bags in colours like cognac or with gold details that are synonymous with the trend.

Look 3: Splurge on a stunning cape.  Neutral outerwear is always worth the investment! Save on colourful plaids, which are an easy way to add a little jazz to any outfit.

Look 4:  Splurge on leopard print.  It’s seasonless, classic and at this point it’s essentially a neutral. Save on statement jewelery. Oppulent accessories have come such a long way that it’s almost impossible to tell whether it’s steep or cheap.  Purchase several pieces that can instantly elevate your outfit, like adding a cluster of brooches to outerwear or a statement necklace to a classic black turtleneck.
