Camp Inspired Fashion For Everyday

Unless you’ve been in a wi-fi free zone the last few days then you are well aware that the theme for this year’s Met Gala was camp. And while we the stars brought their A-game to the pink carpet, wearing a hamburger to work is (generally) frowned upon. The key to making camp wearable the other 364 days of the year?

1. Choose a camp element in styles and silhouettes you naturally gravitate towards.
2. Select a couple of camp elements and pair it with classic pieces. That way you’ll still look like you, just a more playful version.

A bold, loud, tight print is a great way to try the trend. What’s great about a print with multiple colours is you can draw on the palette for your other outfit items. And of course, accessories are key. Especially if you’ve been looking for an excuse to rock a pair of lobster earrings.

Opt for a unique finish, like this rose gold pencil skirt with zip elements. Again, the classic silhouette keeps it looking approachable instead of overboard. Other great finishes to play up the camp include lace and satin.

There was no shortage of exaggerated silhouettes on the pink carpet. This 2-piece in a fabulous colour not only has great shoulder details but the blouse is cut on the bias. Add a statement clutch and you’re ready for a night on the town.
