Avoid Baggage Fees With Outfits That Transform From Day to Night
When it comes to packing for a vacation most people fall into one of two categories. Either you pack too little, arriving at your destination with ample socks and no shirts. Or you pack too much, barely seeing the bottom of your suitcase the whole trip. You don’t have to be a Type A personality to avoid the excess baggage fees with these tips on how to transform a look from day to night.
Look 1: A high-waisted culotte in a fun print and lightweight fabric looks effortless when paired with a white tee and fanny pack. Swap the sunnies for earrings and the tee for a silk blouse and the look suddenly translates into evening wear. Remember that accessories take up very little space in your suitcase but provide maximum impact.
Look 2: A beautiful cotton summer dress should be a staple in everyone’s suitcase while a versatile white denim jacket could also be thrown over your shoulders (known as the editor’s cape) for the first look should the evening turn chilly. Rather than take up precious packing space with a beach bag, use the larger tote as a carry-on. Elevate the look at night by letting the dress shine, and pair with an espadrille wedge which are super comfortable, especially when your favourite cocktail spot is hidden down a cobblestone street.
Look 3: A classic black short is perfect for sightseeing when paired with a gladiator sandal and straw hat. At night a gorgeous headband in vibrant colours and sheer top with tropical print screams “Hand me a Dacquiri.”
