One of the season’s hottest trends is mixing bold prints! Instead of dipping your toe in the trend, how about a whole leg.  Not only are there an infinite number of patterns and colours in hosiery, they are the perfect way to add layers without adding bulk.  And even better, there are so many options at an affordable price point you can give all your favourite outfits a leg up.

1. Coloured Stocking

The number one rule to picking out a colour stocking is to choose a colour you gravitate towards.  Whether that be power red, mustard or a neutral like navy.  That way you’re more likely not only to wear them, but wear them often.  I choose a stunning blue from the oversized animal print sweater to keep the look going from head to toe, and since this outfit is already making a bold statement with patterns, layering a pair of black fishnets makes the look extra fashion forward.

2. Printed Tights

From stars to leopard print, sheer to opaque patterned stockings are a fabulous way to up the glam factor.  Option 1:  Choose a colour from your outfit.  Option 2: Opt for a neutral outfit and go wild with the printed tight.

3.  Fishnets

A fishnet sock is so much fun! And it also created the illusion of a boot when paired with your favourite pump.  A gold glitter fishnet instantly updates your LBD while they could also be layered over a coloured stocking for more versatility.  While fashion lore might say stockings with sandals are a big no-no, I’m here to tell you that there ARE ways to pull it off.  Firstly choose a matching neutral colour for shoes and for tights (black or burgundy work well), and then make sure your toe nail polish is in the same family of colours.
