Don’t Ditch The Denim With The 4 Fall Looks

Truth be told, denim has not been a top priority since the pandemic started. And now putting on a pair of jeans seems like something you would do for galas. Don’t write your denim off just yet. They are one of the hardest working items in your closet.

Blazers are a great way to ease back into denim because they are also another powerful wardrobe staple.  I’ve chosen a blazer with an equestrian flare ( another one of the season’s trends). Don’t forget to tuck in the top, because it’s important to define your waist when wearing a high-rise jean. Another trick is to cuff your denim to really highlight the boot. If you still need one MORE layer, why not top it off with a stunning cape. When it comes to pairing other colours with a neutral, you can also opt for jewel tones (think sapphire, ruby red and emerald greens).

If the thought of denim makes you slightly claustrophobic after months in an elastic waist band, why not pair them with an oversized sweater. For the ultimate in layerings I started with a marino wool turtleneck. Then added an oversized cardigan, defining the waist with a belt. But wait, I’m not done! I’ve added a boyfriend style blazer on top, because when you’re layering this much you might just be able to avoid a heavy jacket.

I can’t get enough of a classic white button-up shirt with jeans. But I’ve added a little twist, by adding an exaggerated sleeve. For an additional layer, opting for a vest is a great way to keep those ruffles if full view.  Another way to elevate the look is by adding a pop of colour in the shoes, and then adding a matching bag.

For this look I’m starting with a sweater dress over my jeans, yes you heard that right! I transformed the dress into a tunic by adding a belt and pulling it up and over, and then layered my (favourite) leather jacket. It’s all about layers AND thinking outside of the box with your own outfits.
