4 Ways To Embrace Colour This Winter

We all tend to gravitate towards darker hues in the winter, even though a mood enhancing pop of colour is sometimes just what the doctor ordered.  When it comes to choosing your colour look for something that could read “Summer” and make the piece transitional with winter-centric accessories (like boots) or winter-focused textures (like wool or cashmere).  Don’t believe me?  Check out the 4 looks below for some rainbow-infused outfit inspiration.

Neon Yellow

This neon yellow satin skirt is perfect for spring, but the addition of a knit sweater in a similar hue makes this look winter ready.  I’ve neutralized the yellow with a stunning snake print jacket and off-white booties, but it would also look great with taupes or greys.  When the warmer weather comes transition these pieces to spring by pairing them with other brights like blue and orange, or pastels.

Pink

This look is a subtle way to add a pop of colour.  A neon pink turtleneck just peeks out underneath a traditional houndstooth suit giving the whole outfit a modern aesthetic.  Another easy way to add colour? Don’t forget about lipstick.

Red

Colour blocking is one of my favourite trends, and the combination of red and turquoise is rich and unexpected.  Other colours combinations that would keep this look fresh when paired with red are orange, yellow and magenta.

Kelly Green

This look goes to show you just how fun wearing a bright in the winter can be.  Keep the look winterized by layering a lavender (!!!!)  turtleneck under a jumpsuit with matching boots and let the compliments keep you warm.
