How To Layer Like A Professional Stylist
It’s time to up-level your layering game with these stylist approved tips, tricks and techniques.
To wear your favourite ripped denim or cropped shirt in the winter start with a heat-tech base layer (I’m wearing leggings and a long sleeved shirt in this look). And a knit vest and cropped puffer jacket to keep warm. Adding wool socks is also the easiest way to transition fall footwear (like an ankle boot) into winter.
Thanks to lockdown life we’re all working out from home and have a workout outfit (or 9) kicking around. Use your favourite yoga gear as the base, layer a stretch pullover in a neutral and a bold pop of colour with a quilted jacket. Because it’s the quilted jacket is so lightweight, you can layer an additional oversized jacket (or coatigan) on top.
A classic button-up Oxford blouse is the starting point for this look. Layered with a colour-blocked fleece sweater, a water-repellent ultra-light down vest and stylist staple, an oversized boyfriend blazer.
Believe it or not, there is a padded-shoulder long sleeve hiding under here! Layered with a collarless vest (perfect for those with longer hair), an oversized knit cardigan and a stunning coat.
